Every 10 minutes someone in Olmsted County is in need of a blood transfusion. You can help meet the needs of people in health crises. Donated blood helps meet many medical needs — including saving the life of a premature baby, restoring the strength of a cancer patient, and providing a critical transfusion to someone who has been in an accident.

CITY OF BYRON: For the Byron Senior Wellness Fair Oct. 28, the perimeter of the gym at the Community Education Center was filled with health services vendors and nursing students from Winona State University
These stations offered attendees treats, ideas and information about how to stay healthy, stay active, and stay in their homes, if they choose.

At a meeting Oct. 24, a group of representatives from the Byron Park Board, City Council, youth sports associations and some city employees met on to discuss updating the city’s recreational facilities plan which includes the town’s parks.

The Byron Fire Department will host an open house on Monday, Oct. 10 between 5 and 8 p.m. at the fire hall at 707 Frontage Road NW to kick off the week, said Fire Chief Matt Grant.

The team members looked for ways to give back to the community and helping clean up the surroundings of the bear roundabout entrance to Byron was the perfect solution.
