City Of Byron issued the following announcement on Nov. 05.
For the Byron Senior Wellness Fair Oct. 28, the perimeter of the gym at the Community Education Center was filled with health services vendors and nursing students from Winona State University. These stations offered attendees treats, ideas and information about how to stay healthy, stay active, and stay in their homes, if they choose. There was even a cubicle that gave seniors ideas about how to communicate effectively with their doctor or other health professionals when they have appointments. Seniors could also get seasonal flu shots.
The wellness fair is typically held annually but it has not been held since 2019 because of COVID. The turnout was terrific. Family Services Rochester and the Community Education Center sponsored the event. For more information, visit, https://familyservicerochester.org/
