City Of Byron issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
Twentieth St. N. is closed to through traffic for the winter. The road is open to local traffic from the County Road 5 NW entrance as far as the nearby private driveway. From 10th Ave. NE, local traffic may drive on 20th St. NE as far as Fifth Ave. NE. Supply problems stopped the city from finishing the project this summer as the box culverts that will be used to bridge the stream near the Wastewater Treatment Plant were not received, Public Works Superintendent Tom Ricke explained to Byron City Council members at their Nov. 15 meeting.
When the project is completed, the road will be paved from 10th Ave to County Road 5 and there will be a paved walking/biking trail alongside the south side of the roadway.
A portion of the project’s cost will be paid by Local Road Improvement Program funds from the Minnesota Department of Transportation. https://www.byronmn.com/index.asp... #WeAreByron
