Winona Area Psd issued the following announcement on July 31.
The plan will guide Winona Area Public Schools and other districts across the state to make localized decisions using data, facts and expertise from local and state experts that prioritizes the health and safety of students and staff amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
What does this mean for the first day of school on Tuesday, Sept. 8? At this point, we cannot say for sure. We know how disappointing, frustrating and scary that can be for families who were looking forward to a final decision to begin planning for the fall.
But the good news is that the desired outcome of many — to have students safely back in school — is a strong possibility for the 2020-21 school year.
