Congressman Brad Finstad, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 1st district since 2022, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account regarding law enforcement efforts, a congressional art competition winner, and a new National Guard facility.
On June 16, Congressman Finstad expressed gratitude towards law enforcement officers for their diligent work in concluding a manhunt. He stated: "Thankful for the work of hundreds of diligent law enforcement officers who’ve worked around the clock to bring this manhunt to an end. I hope this perpetrator is swiftly prosecuted and brought to justice for the Hortman and Hoffman families."
Later that day, he highlighted his meeting with Ava Siok from Winona, who won the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Minnesota's 1st District. Finstad noted: "Enjoyed visiting with Ava Siok, of Winona, the 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner from #MN01, while she was in Washington, D.C. for the official award ceremony! Her art piece, 'Sparkling Sunset', will be displayed in the Capitol for the next year representing southern."
On June 17, Congressman Finstad provided insights into his visit to a new field maintenance shop and armory being constructed by the Minnesota National Guard in New Ulm. He mentioned: "I recently got an up-close look at the new @MNNationalGuard field maintenance shop and armory in New Ulm, which will be capable of housing 215 personnel and 90 vehicles once completed. I appreciated hearing from Major General Manke about the impact the new facility will have."
Brad Finstad replaced previous U.S Congress member Jim Hagedorn in 2022 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in New Ulm in 1976, he currently resides there after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree.
