Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said parents of young children need to “engage their school boards” to make sure there are clear and fair policies regarding parent information of their child, should they identify as transgender.

"Leftists promoting the anti-science 'transgender' movement cannot abide any opposition that is willing to provide facts, let alone even basic concerns over the pro-trans agenda,” Burch told SE Minnesota News. “This is why parents must engage their school boards and demand that the trans insanity be removed from their child's classroom."

A teachers’ union in Rochester, Minnesota expelled a school counselor from their ranks after she expressed concerns regarding her district’s transgender student policy. Christina Barton shared her concerns during meetings, one on March 19 and one on May 7, saying she did not think that the Rochester Public School District was doing enough to ensure parents were informed if their child said they identified as transgender.

Barton was expelled for "violating the National Education Association’s Code of Ethics for teachers, especially Principle 1 related to 'Commitment to the Student,'” according to a Daily Mail article.

Barton said she faced criticism and unprofessional responses after her statement to the board, despite her never making any statements against the transgender community. She said she wanted to ensure parents were informed about their children so they could support their child in the case of gender dysphoria.
