Test 05

Zumbro School District ranked sixth in the Olmsted County for test participation, with 88 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Zumbro School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 41.9% over the previous year.

Zumbro School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 11% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 0% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 93% not meeting the expected standards.

Zumbro School District encompasses schools within Olmsted County and has a main office in Byron.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
