Were students of Hiawatha Valley School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Math testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Hiawatha Valley School District ranked third in the Winona County for test participation, with 29 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Hiawatha Valley School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 45% over the previous year.

Hiawatha Valley School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 3% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 0% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 0% not meeting the expected standards.

Hiawatha Valley School District encompasses schools within Winona County and has a main office in Winona.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.
