Spring Grove School District students performance on MCA and MTAS in 2021-22 school year?

Spring Grove School District ranked third in the Houston County for test participation, with 163 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Spring Grove School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 5.8% from the previous year.

Spring Grove School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 65% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 25% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, fourth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 24% not meeting the expected standards.

Spring Grove School District encompasses schools within Houston County and has a main office in Spring Grove.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
