How did Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District ranked second in the Wabasha County for test participation, with 622 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 11.1% over the previous year.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 55% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 35% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 41% not meeting the expected standards.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District encompasses schools within Wabasha County and has a main office in Mazeppa.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
