Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District ranked second in the Wabasha County for test participation, with 577 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 10.3% over the previous year.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 60% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 38% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 55% not meeting the expected standards.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District encompasses schools within Wabasha County and has a main office in Mazeppa.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
