Were students of Lanesboro Public School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Reading testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Lanesboro Public School District ranked third in the Fillmore County for test participation, with 201 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Lanesboro Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 3.1% over the previous year.

Lanesboro Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 56% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 20% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 44% not meeting the expected standards.

Lanesboro Public School District encompasses schools within Fillmore County and has a main office in Lanesboro.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
