How did Hayfield Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Hayfield Public School District ranked third in the Dodge County for test participation, with 350 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Hayfield Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 4.9% from the previous year.

Hayfield Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 42% in 2021-22 school year.

Third grade students stood out with 10% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 48% not meeting the expected standards.

Hayfield Public School District encompasses schools within Dodge County and has a main office in Hayfield.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
