City Of Byron issued the following announcement on Mar. 14.
Crews from the Minnesota Department of Transportation have placed flashing warning signs before the intersection of Olmsted County Road 3 and Highway 14 on both sides of Highway 14. This summer, construction on the intersection will include the addition of J-turns. These are also called ‘reduced conflict intersections’ and have been shown to decrease fatalities and injuries caused by broadside crashes on four-lane divided highways, according to the MnDOT website. For more information about J-turns, visit https://www.dot.state.mn.us/roadwork/rci/index.html
MnDot has estimated the construction project will be done between April and July.
After the J-turns are built, the access to Country Club Rd. from Highway 14 will be closed.
