City Of Byron issued the following announcement on Jan. 14.
The city of Byron recently received a Resiliency Grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for about $46,500. The city’s match of 10% will be about $4,650. The money will be used to develop a plan which will evaluate Byron’s current storm water infrastructure and - using climate change data about weather trends and projections from scientists at the University of Minnesota – will list prioritized improvements to our stormwater infrastructure and associated costs.
City officials can use the plan to determine funding and timing for the projects.
This will help protect homes, businesses, and the wastewater plant from future flood damage.
The plan can also identify the city’s partners in implementation including such entities as the Zumbro River One Watershed, One Plan; the Olmsted Soil and Water Conservation District; local schools; businesses; and private landowners. The engineering firm of WHKS will complete the plan. https://www.byronmn.com/index.asp... #WeAreByron
