You might have noticed a little something down at Herb Vik Field this past week.
Yes - the ice rink walls are up! This will be the second year of the Mazeppa Community Ice Rink here in town and it would not be possible without amazing volunteers and donations.
In addition to the physical rink, a lot of other work was done in the past weeks to help protect and fix some existing issues to the baseball field, including installing a hydrant for winter water access that won’t put the outfield’s irrigation system at risk.
As a result, we are asking for your help!! We are looking for sponsor help for the rink this winter. We plan to continue to grow the rink use options for all ages to enjoy and need to make caretaking a little easier. We also plan to continue to make more repairs to the baseball field in the spring after the rink is put away to help better manage rainwater and field conditions (issues unrelated to the rink).
If you’d like to know more, send us a message here or email us! THANK YOU for all of your support as we wrap up our first year as a committee - we have learned a lot and it has been a blast!
