City Of Canton issued the following announcement on Nov. 4.
SOMETHING POSITIVE: The City of Canton is very pleased to announce we are the recipient of a $4,500 grant from the Arlin Falck Foundation. The grant will be used to convert the current Main Street light fixtures with LED fixtures. As stated in the grant application, "Quality LED light bulbs last longer, are more durable, and offer comparable or better light quality than other types of lighting.
LED lights use about 50% less electricity than traditional incandescent, fluorescent and halogen options, resulting in substantial energy cost savings, especially for spaces with lights that are on for extended periods." Thanks to the Arlin Falck Foundation, these grant dollars will cover all costs associated with this project, which will occur in the spring.
