A Joint Information Center has been formed in Olmsted County to combat COVID-19 by raising awareness among the public.

According to KIMT News, the Public Health Services Department, the city of Rochester, public schools, clinics and hospitals and Rochester International Airport have joined hands to raise awareness regarding the novel coronavirus among residents in Olmsted County.

“Having the Joint Information Center in place will ensure organizations across the community have access to the latest COVID-19 information and that communications on this topic are being shared in a coordinated, consistent fashion,” Olmsted County Director of Public Health Services Graham Briggs told KIMT.

Briggs said that the health department has the capacity to test approximately 100 people daily for the COVID-19.

The Health Department authorities have advised the residents to gradually start storing food items and prescription drugs at home. Parents of young children are also advised to have backup plans for child care at ready in case they fall sick.
