City of Canton issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.
Five foot snowflakes will adorn Canton's Main Street come next Christmas season. The city council approved purchasing new holiday decor at its regular February meeting. As previously mentioned, the current light displays are in rough shape, with several units cobbled together. The snowflakes were chosen for their simple design, low maintenance, and size for off-season storage. The city saved $1,386 by taking advantage of post-holiday inventory closeout sales. The total bill came to $3,150. The city is not using property tax revenue for the funding of this project.
