City of Austin issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Due to high winds at the Central Disposal landfill it is closed today to haulers. This impacts the Austin Transfer Station as we now do not have a location to empty our trailers. As a result the Austin Transfer Station will close later today when all trailers are full and we cannot continue to accept waste. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
