Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address national service and political developments.
On November 10, 2025, Finstad posted a message commemorating the United States Marine Corps: "For 250 years, the United States Marine Corps has embodied honor, courage, and commitment in defense of our nation. We celebrate their proud legacy and the men and women who have answered the call to serve."
The following day, November 11, he expressed gratitude toward military veterans: "Not only today, but every day we thank our Veterans for their selfless service to our country. From the front lines to our front doors, we know that freedom isn’t free. Thank you to all Veterans!"
On November 13, Finstad commented on recent legislative activity related to a government shutdown: "For six weeks, Democrats have used the American people as leverage in the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. Today, I voted to put an end to the partisan games, return to common sense legislating, and get back to work serving the American people."
Brad Finstad began representing Minnesota’s 1st congressional district in 2022 after succeeding Jim Hagedorn. He previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. Born in New Ulm in 1976, Finstad continues to reside there.
