Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently marked several national observances and international developments through posts on his social media account.
On October 12, 2025, Finstad acknowledged National Farmers Day, stating, "Happy National Farmers Day to my fellow farmers. Farming is one of the most honorable professions this country has to offer, and I am thankful for all those who work day-in, day-out to produce the food and fuel that our country relies on. The following day, October 13, 2025, he commemorated Columbus Day, writing, "This Columbus Day, we commemorate the 533rd anniversary of Columbus’s arrival in the New World. This proud day in American history that serves as a reminder of the exploration, perseverance, and bold pursuit of freedom that shaped our great nation."
Later on October 13, 2025, Finstad commented on an international event regarding hostages in Israel, posting, "For the first time in 738 days, there are no Israelis held captive by Hamas. Thank you to President Trump and his Administration for ushering in a time of peace and an opportunity for these families to be made whole again."
Finstad, a fourth-generation farmer, was born in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1976 and continues to reside there. He has represented Minnesota’s 1st district in Congress since 2022, succeeding Jim Hagedorn, after previously serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Finstad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.
