Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of national and state issues in a series of posts on his social media account.
On October 7, 2025, Finstad marked the anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, stating, "Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists carried out an attack on Israel, and to this day innocent hostages remain in Gaza. We remember the victims and stand unwaveringly with our ally Israel and the Jewish people against hatred and antisemitism."
Later that day, Finstad called for action to end the ongoing government shutdown. In a post dated October 7, 2025, he wrote, "My fellow Minnesota Republicans and I are calling on Senators Klobuchar and Smith to do the right thing: end the shutdown. Every day that the government stays shut, is another day that hardworking Minnesotans pay the price."
On October 8, 2025, Finstad expressed support for Daniel Rosen's confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. He stated, "I’m proud to see Daniel Rosen confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. I am certain that Rosen will uphold the highest standards of justice in fighting the fraud that has infested our state. I was honored to support his nomination and am eager for what is to"
Brad Finstad has served as U.S. Representative since 2022 after replacing Jim Hagedorn. He previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009 and holds a degree from the University of Minnesota. Born in New Ulm in 1976, he continues to reside there.
