The City of Caledonia has announced its schedule for the 2025 Fall Cleanup, providing residents with an opportunity to dispose of yard waste and certain types of vegetation. The city’s Diseased Tree Disposal Site will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 7, for individuals who prefer to transport their own materials.

Residents are instructed to place compostable materials curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3. The Street Department will conduct collections throughout the week, with final pickup scheduled for Friday, November 7. According to city guidelines, "The Street Department will not return for pickup of any materials that are placed curbside after 7:00am on Friday, November 7th."

Accepted items include grass clippings, vegetables, leaves, and other natural vegetation. These must be placed in biodegradable bags or cardboard boxes; regular totes or plastic garbage bags are not allowed. The city notes that "30-gallon biodegradable bags are available at the local hardware store and grocery store for purchase." Tree branches and brush can also be collected if they do not exceed four feet in length and six inches in diameter and are securely bundled.

Materials such as dirt, rocks, concrete, furniture, dimension lumber, blacktop and regular household garbage will not be accepted during the cleanup.

The tree disposal site is set to remain open until Saturday, November 8 or longer if weather allows. Regular operating hours following the cleanup week are Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

For further information regarding Fall Cleanup procedures or acceptable materials, residents may contact the City Clerk’s Office at 507-725-3450 or the Street Department at 507-725-2060.
