Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing state nutrition policy, higher education innovation, and his legislative priorities.
On September 9, 2025, Finstad addressed concerns regarding the administration of SNAP benefits in Minnesota. He stated: "At today’s @HouseAgGOP Nutrition subcommittee hearing, I led my fellow Minnesota Republicans in calling out @GovTimWalz's mismanagement of SNAP. Minnesotans deserve efficiency and accountability, not waste and dependency."
The following day, September 10, Finstad highlighted a new educational initiative in southern Minnesota. He wrote: "Honored to recognize the grand opening of MSU Mankato’s Maverick Innovation Gateway. This new center will equip students with real-world skills, foster entrepreneurship, and keep southern Minnesota at the forefront of innovation."
Later that same day, he shared news about receiving an award for his legislative work. Finstad said: "Grateful to be presented with the Defender of Limited Government Award. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting for responsible policies that rein in government overreach on behalf of southern MN families, farmers, & small businesses. Thank you @leganalysis!"
