U.S. Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district, recently highlighted his meetings with agricultural and healthcare leaders in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). Finstad’s updates covered topics ranging from support for rural farming communities to challenges facing local health centers.
On August 8, 2025, Finstad described his meeting with Compeer Financial at Minnesota Farmfest. He wrote, "It was good to meet with Compeer Financial at Minnesota Farmfest this week. Ag lenders, like Compeer, are a valuable part of our rural farming communities, providing the access to credit that help farmers succeed here in #MN01, and across our state and country."
Later that day, he addressed healthcare concerns in southern Minnesota. In a post dated August 8, 2025, Finstad stated: "Families across #MN01 rely on nonprofit community health centers for affordable medical and dental services. I recently met with Open Door Health Center to talk with their team about the shortage of physicians and dentists impacting their services and ways we can work to keep"
On August 9, 2025, Finstad also discussed his engagement with soybean growers during Farmfest: "I was proud to meet with the @MNSoyGrowers at Farmfest this week. Their advocacy for vital policies like protecting crop inputs, supporting biodiesel, and easing tax burdens is more important than ever. I will continue fighting to ensure farm policy delivers a strong safety net,"
Brad Finstad has represented Minnesota’s 1st congressional district since 2022 after succeeding Jim Hagedorn. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in New Ulm in 1976 and currently residing there at age 46, Finstad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.
