U.S. Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district, recently addressed several issues on his social media account, including a local tragedy, agricultural policy reform, and national security. Finstad has served in Congress since 2022 after previously serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009.

On July 23, 2025, Finstad commented on an incident near Brownsville: "Heartbreaking tragedy near Brownsville this morning. Thank you to the Houston County Sheriff's office and #MN01 first responders for bringing closure to Eliotte’s family. Keeping all of her loved ones in my prayers today."

The following day, July 24, he highlighted a legislative effort to assist new farmers: "Currently, USDA requires beginning farmers to wait 3 years to access a farm ownership loan. I introduced the bipartisan Next Generation Farmer Act with @RepRileyNY to cut this red tape & expand access to the financial tools new farmers & their operations need to succeed."

Later that same day, Finstad reported on his participation in a meeting focused on national defense: "It was an honor to join my colleagues on the @RepublicanStudy National Security Task Force for a meeting with @SecDef and the @thejointstaff. Proud to be working shoulder-to-shoulder with this administration to ensure our military remains the most capable and competitive fighting"

Brad Finstad was born in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1976 and continues to reside there. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. After replacing Jim Hagedorn in Congress in 2022, Finstad has remained active both locally and nationally through legislative initiatives and community engagement.
