Congressman Brad Finstad announced the release of federal funding for the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has allocated 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) funding for the 2025 school year.
The Department of Education administers 21st CCLC grants, which fund before- and after-school programs for students from schools with a high concentration of low-income families.
The release followed Congressman Finstad’s intervention with OMB on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, which relies on this funding. A delay occurred as OMB conducted a comprehensive review to ensure proper use of taxpayer dollars.
"One of the greatest honors of serving in Congress is ensuring our southern Minnesota communities have the resources they need from the federal government," said Rep. Finstad. "These grant dollars are incredibly important for the after-school programs that thousands of youth and families depend on in southern Minnesota, and I was proud to advocate for the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester and similar organizations across the state to get this done for the many kids who benefit from participating in these programs."
