Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on July 18, 2025, addressing recent legislative actions and concerns about state governance.

In a post made at 4:18 a.m. UTC, Finstad stated, "Today's recissions package slashes $9B in wasteful government spending, upholding the promise we made to the American people. Proud to vote for this legislation and deliver this win for hardworking American taxpayers."

Later that morning at 4:54 a.m. UTC, he highlighted congressional support for military funding: "Today, the House voted to deliver critical funding to our Armed Forces, ensuring our military remains the most capable and competitive fighting force in theworld. Proud to vote yes on this historic investment in the men and women who serve our great nation."

At 2:05 p.m. UTC on the same day, Finstad criticized state leadership regarding public program management: "Another massive fraud investigation and yet another example of how the @GovTimWalz Administration continues to make a mess of the public programs in our state. Medicaid fraud is real and is happening right here in our backyard. Shameful."

Brad Finstad has served as U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 1st District since 2022 after succeeding Jim Hagedorn. He previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009 and was born in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1976. Finstad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.
