Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently highlighted several agricultural and defense initiatives on his social media account.
On July 15, Finstad posted about the state’s leading role in sugarbeet production and recent actions by the U.S. Department of Agriculture: "Minnesota produces more sugarbeets than any other state in the country. Great to see @USDA make this move that puts our American sugar growers and processors FIRST!"
Later that day, he addressed risk management for pork producers, stating: "Our pork producers deserve strong, accessible risk management tools to help them protect against risks beyond their control. Today, I led my colleagues in asking USDA to thoroughly review how these programs can best serve the farmers who depend on them."
On July 16, Finstad commented on national defense efforts: "Maintaining America’s competitiveness is a critical component of Peace Through Strength. Proud to join my @HASCRepublicans colleagues in passing the #FY26NDAA, which cuts government red tape, bolsters our defense industrial base, and strengthens America’s leadership around the"
Brad Finstad has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2022 after succeeding Jim Hagedorn and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1976, Finstad continues to reside there and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
