Winona Police Department recently issued the following announcement.

Just a reminder as the colleges come back from winter break that the Alternate Side Parking rules are still in effect.

Alternate side parking works as follows.  Vehicles must be on a specific side of the street between 12:01am and 6:30am every night during enforcement dates.  The side of the street vehicles are allowed to park on is determined by the date at 12:01am.  Odd dates mean that vehicles may park on the odd side of the street.  Even dates mean that vehicles may park on the even side of the street.  Odd and even sides of the street are determined by house numbers.  Generally even numbered houses are on the north and east sides of the street and odd numbered houses are on the south and west sides of the street.

Parking Lots affected by Alternate Side Parking: There are 2 lots downtown that are affected by alternated side parking and they are Lot #1 & Lot #3.  Lot #1 is off 2nd between Center and Lafayette. NO PARKING on ODD numbered days.  Lot #3 is by the bus shelter off of Center St. between 3rd and 4th.  NO PARKING on EVEN numbered days.  The remaining city parking lots are subject to the hours posted in each lot and are enforced under our normal parking ordinance.

Diagonal parking on Main St starting at the east-west alley between 2nd St and Front St to 4th St AND Market St between 2nd St and 4th St are subject to Alternate Side Parking regulations.

Violations will result in the issuance of a $25 citation.  The vehicle’s registered owner will receive a letter if payment is not received within 10 days.
