WINONA POLICE DEPARTMENT: As we are well into the Holiday Season, we know it is difficult for many people

Suicide

Winona Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 09.

As we are well into the Holiday Season, we know it is difficult for many people.  It can bring up strong emotions and memories.  Sometimes this is very difficult to deal with.  Every year around this time we post this information.  We want people to know there are resources out there to help.

If you are feeling like you want to hurt yourself, nationally there is the Suicide Prevention Hotline.  You can call them at 988 or you can go to their website (988lifeline.org) and chat with someone via text.  Locally, you can call the Southeast Minnesota Crisis Response Line at 1-844-274-7472.  Both are available 24/7.

For those who struggle with addictions and need an outlet to speak to someone, there are several AA, NA, and Celebrate Recovery meetings in our area to help you.  Please see below for the schedules or visit the following websites.

We hope everyone has a safe Holiday Season.
