CITY OF CANTON: Notice That Primary Election Will Be Held On Tuesday, August 11

City of Canton issued the following announcement on July 24.

To the voters of the City of Canton in the County of Fillmore in the State of Minnesota. Notice is hereby given that a Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at which the polls will be open from the hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the purposes of nominating candidates for the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The City of Canton will be conducting the Primary Election (and General Election) by mail balloting. Registered voters will receive their ballot in the mail. Unregistered voters need to contact the Fillmore County Auditor/Treasurer's Office OR may choose to vote in-person on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Fillmore County Auditor/Treasurer's Office, located at 101 Fillmore Street in Preston. There will be no poll voting in the City of Canton, per Resolution No. 2019-001 to authorize mail balloting approved by the Canton City Council on December 11, 2019.

Questions or concerns about mail ballots yet to be received should be directed to the Fillmore County Auditor/Treasurer's Office (507-765-3811) and not the City of Canton or U.S Postal Service.
