City of Canton issued the following announcement on May 15.
Each year, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) recognizes wastewater treatment facility operators that maintain a perfect record of permit compliance. To be eligible, facilities must submit all monitoring reports to the MPCA correctly and on time, demonstrate consistent compliance through monitoring or surveys, and employ staff certified by the MPCA in wastewater operations.
The City of Canton's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is overseen by Public Works Director Jon Nordsving, with assistance from Jim Davis. This marks the third consecutive year (2017, 2018, 2019) Canton's WWTP staff has received this honor.
According to the MPCA's website, Canton is the only Fillmore County city to achieve this level of compliance during the 2019 review year (October 2018 to September 2019).
Congratulations, Jon and Jim! Thanks for all you do for the City of Canton.
