City of Caledonia issued the following announcement on April 30.
Notice is hereby given of the City of Caledonia will hold a special City Council meeting on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting recessed on April 13, 2020 will be reconvened at approximately 6:00 p.m. Following the conclusion of the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting, the City Council will conduct City business as part of its special City Council meeting. The regular meeting location is Council Chambers, City Hall, 231 E. Main St., Caledonia, Minnesota, but for reasons set forth below, the meeting will be held via videoconference.
In accordance with the requirements of Minn. Stat. Section 13D.021, Mayor DeWayne “Tank” Schroeder and Clerk/Administrator Adam Swann have determined that an in-person meeting is not practical or prudent because of a health pandemic declared under Chapter 12 of the Minnesota Statutes.
Because of the health pandemic and City Council’s emergency declaration on March 23, 2020, it has been determined that the physical presence at the regular meeting location by at least one member of the City Council is not feasible. Therefore, all of the City Council members will be participating by telephone or other electronic means.
The May 4, 2020 Council meeting will be recorded live and open to the public to watch remotely. Residents wanting to address the Council can call (646) 749-3122 and use access code 206-905-885, followed by the # sign. Residents can also email cityhall@caledoniamn.gov.
Residents may log in to the live video via GotoMeeting.com at https://global.gotomeeting.com/install/206905885. Your computer will ask you for permission to download the program. You can click ‘Yes’ to the prompt to allow the quick download to run GoToMeeting. The download will only take a couple of minutes at most. You might want to download it before Monday night just in case there is an issue. This will grant you access to the meeting. You also do not need to make an official account on GoToMeeting in order to join.
If you have questions prior to the meeting, please contact City Hall at (507) 725-3450.
