City of Caledonia issued the following announcement on April 9.
Due to the update given by the Coulee Region Sports League, we have decided to extend the registration deadline for 9U – 14U baseball and softball to Saturday, April 25. The registration deadline for T-Ball and Pee Wees is still planned for Friday, May. While City Hall is closed to the public until further notice, you may submit your registration with a check in the City of Caledonia drop-box outside of City Hall. If the season is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you will be fully refunded for your registration. During these trying times as we all manage these difficult circumstances we have come to the obvious conclusion that something must be done with our deadlines for our League. At this time the league scheduling and processing is currently on hold. As much as we would like to get back to normalcy in all of our life’s we realize it is impossible to hold organizational registrations and tryouts for our teams. Below are our updates we have made to our upcoming season and registration:
• REGISTRATION – On hold until further notice. We will be following guidelines from the Wisconsin Governors office as well with respect to our neighbors from Minnesota. Once registration is open we will give organizations a 10 day notice to hand in registration information. We will have another update April 25.
• SEASON- We realize there is a possibility we may have to make adjustments to our season. For example if we can only play in July we would still like to do that with adjustments. We know baseball/softball are unique sports and it takes time for youth to have their arms and bodies ready to compete. We will take this into account before jumping into any decision. If we can play ball at the start of June we certainly would love to do so.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL- Due to our seniors losing most If not all of their senior season we are allowing graduating seniors to complete for this year only. Coaches will make their own decisions on this team by team but us as a league will be allowing it. We will also be keeping updated weekly standings via our Facebook page for this league. Both games in the doubleheader will count in the standings and Championship T-Shirts will be handed out to our winners of each league.
• FACEBOOK PAGE – Moving forward we will be using Facebook so your parents and coaches can retrieve information ASAP about how we are moving forward. https://www.facebook.com/Coulee-Region-Sports-League-112836793707738/. This will be a much easier way to consistently update our community with updates. We will no longer be using our website for this.
• Tournaments – We will be updating all of your tournaments on our Facebook page tomorrow night. If you have changed or moved a date please let us know ASAP.
