CITY OF BYRON: The Lifecycle of the Emerald Ash Borer

Ashtrees

City of Byron issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.

If you have an ash tree in your yard, chances are pretty good that it is infected with the nefarious Emerald Ash Borer.

These insidious bugs lay their eggs under the bark of the trees and when those eggs hatch, the larvae can live in the trees for up to two years. The bugs steal the nutrients the trees need to survive, and the trees will eventually die.

For more information about this insect and your options as a tree owner, follow this link: www.byronmn.com/communitynews
