City of Canton issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
The new city parking regulations have raised some questions regarding street boundaries. Currently, Main Street is the only one with clearly defined boundaries in the form of concrete curbs. That leaves the majority of our residential properties without these indicators. In addition to serving as street boundaries, curb and gutter would offer additional drainage benefits and provide aesthetic appeal. However, installing curb and gutter would be a huge financial undertaking. One website lists the average cost per linear foot at between $43 and $53. There's been no talk, whatsoever, at the city-level to explore curb and gutter projects. So, what are your thoughts on the topic? Should the city look into this further or just let things be?
