City of Canton issued the following announcement on Oct. 31.
Alternate side parking begins tomorrow, November 1, at 2 a.m. That means no vehicles are allowed on the odd-numbered side of city streets from 2 a.m. until 8 a.m. So, before you go to bed tonight, make sure your vehicle is parked on the even-numbered side of the street. Then, tomorrow night, you will park on the odd-numbered side of the street. Alternate side parking is in effect every day, November through March, regardless of the weather forecast. Initially, the sheriff's department will be issuing warnings (like the one featured in the photo) to owners of vehicles parked illegally. City wide voluntary compliance is the goal. Repeat offenders will eventually receive a $25 citation. Remember to share this information with overnight guests.
