Olmsted County has been recognized as one of the top workplaces in Southeast Minnesota for the fourth consecutive year, according to an April 13 announcement. The county was named a recipient of Workforce Development, Inc.’s (WDI) 2026 Best Places to Work award and is among five organizations honored in the Large Employer category out of a total of fifteen selected in the region.
The recognition highlights Olmsted County’s efforts to create a supportive and inclusive work environment. Awards such as this are considered significant because they reflect employee satisfaction and organizational commitment to workplace quality.
Olmsted County Administrator Travis Gransee said, “We are honored to be recognized as one of the best places to work. This award is a testament to our commitment to fostering a workplace that is thoughtful in our approach, principled in our actions, and inclusive in our culture. Our people are at the heart of our success, and we are grateful for their dedication and passion.”
Julian Currie, Olmsted County Human Resources Director, also commented on the achievement: “Olmsted County is committed to cultivating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. This recognition reflects our dedication to creating an inclusive, engaging environment where our team can thrive.”
According to information provided by Olmsted County officials, the organization aims to build a sustainable foundation for a safe, healthy, and welcoming community through public service excellence.
