Congressman Brad Finstad, who represents Minnesota’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on February 4 and 5, 2026, highlighting local industry visits and law enforcement actions in his district.

On February 4, Finstad posted about a visit to a major food processor in Owatonna: “Lakeside Foods, in Owatonna, is a major food processor that supports hundreds of local jobs and farms in #MN01. It was great to be with their team for an up-close look at the impressive operation they’ve been running for decades. I look forward to continuing to partner with” (posted February 4, 2026).

Later that day, he addressed public safety concerns regarding criminal activity: “Across our state, ICE has arrested 28 violent gang members, 139 criminals convicted of assault, 87 sex offenders…the list goes on.

Border Czar Tom Homan’s message is clear – we must keep dangerous criminals off our streets and work toward calmer, more productive conversations” (posted February 4, 2026).

In another post dated February 5, Finstad further commented on immigration enforcement efforts: “These criminal illegal immigrants were convicted of money laundering, drug possession, committing sex crimes, and more. Enforcing our immigration laws is essential to protecting southern Minnesota and I stand behind our brave ICE officers who are getting these low-lifes off the” (posted February 5, 2026).

Brad Finstad has served as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 1st District since replacing Jim Hagedorn in 2022. He previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in New Ulm in 1976 and currently residing there at age forty-six, Finstad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.
